English Speaking Kita Educator
Hello, I am an English speaking Kindergarten educator willing to help children learn through play as children, and to allow that play to serve as their educational foundation, which I believe is the proper bedrock for a lifelong future of learning for their logical and imaginative minds.
· Kindergarten educator happy to provide understanding space for children to learn in their own time, especially in outside play - climbing trees when appropriate, riding bicycles, playing in the mud, building in the sandpit. Allowing the children to be the architects of their playgrounds, all with compassionate listening skills in a fun and sensitive presence like that of Germany’s Peter Lustig to America’s Fred Rogers.
· Kindergarten educator enthusiastic about allowing the child’s language acquisition device to absorb English and German simultaneously, which magically demonstrates the cherished potentials of each child’s development in the human condition.
· Kindergarten educator with both American and German early years’ childhood education experience, having fallen in love with the German approach to kindergarten education – not too hot, not too cold, almost perfectly balanced.
· Kindergarten educator in A2 level German learning, and heartfully working toward the B1-Sprachtest for the recognition of my master’s degree in Elementary Education from Hunter College, New York, New York.
I am currently working in a high school in New York City for students with autism, working under the umbrella of kindness and not too much assertiveness by the educator that was taught to me in working in Berlin Kitas. My desire to return to Berlin as an English-Speaking educator is because this educating with a “gentle kindness principle” – taught to me by German and British educators - is respected in Berlin kindergarten.
