native english speaking teacher / ErzieherIn (w/m/d) englischsprachig

Are you interested in working with international families in a German-English setting? Are you looking for possibilities to follow your pedagogical passion? Would you like to have an opportunity to influence the curriculum and run with your own projects?

We are a small parent-run preschool with 20 years of experience. Our children (ca. 21) are bilingual (English/German). Strongly anchored to Berlin’s early education curriculum, we also integrate aspects of nature pedagogy, anti-bias curriculum and Montessori philosophy. Regular park and forest days as well as weekly music lessons are an integral part of our educational program.

We are looking for passionate early childhood teachers to join our team. Most important requirements include:

  • English at a native level
  • experience working with children; credentials recognised in Germany
  • interest in working with other cultures and ideally some working experience in a multicultural setting
  • familiarity with parent-run Kitas and ability to collaborate with parents
  • strong focus on diversity and inclusion
  • ability to quickly build strong rapport with the children, parents and the team
  • good organisational skills to carry out administrative tasks

Ideal candidates are focused on participative pedagogy and on facilitating learning through play. Thanks to their transparent and respectful communication, they are able to build connections and effectively collaborate with others. Like true self- starters they don’t shy away from taking initiatives that would help our Kita community grow. They are mindful and observant; they are able to recognise and respond to children’s needs. Last but not least: ideal candidates display a high level of dependability and responsibility.

What we offer:

  • Position for 30-35h paid according to TVL-S (EG S8a or S4)
